The benefits of prevention are widely recognized, from avoiding disease onset to reducing disease burden, particularly given the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases. However, delivering preventive care has encountered numerous obstacles. Healthcare professionals play a crucial role in advancing preventive care, but their behaviors are often influenced by incentives related to reimbursement and payment for these services. Despite the clear benefits of preventive care, not everyone has equal access to these services. Further, the importance of understanding your data, especially SDOH data, is key in standing up a preventive care strategy. There are many opportunities for reimbursement through various preventive care delivery approaches and methodologies, which will reduce barriers and encourage patients to prioritize preventive care.
