The Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) and Google Health have launched a free online course to help medical professionals, researchers, administrators, and innovators understand generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and their healthcare applications.Titled "Generative AI for Healthcare," the course covers LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, and AI’s role in clinical decision-making. It includes videos, quizzes, and hands-on labs, requiring participants to complete a survey before gaining access. The self-paced course and lab are each designed to take one hour.AI has been explored in healthcare since the 1960s and is now widely used in precision medicine, drug discovery, and robotic surgery.
