Humana Partners with Sunrise to Expand Digital Sleep Apnea Diagnostics

Dreem Health, a digital sleep clinic operated by The Sunrise Group, has entered a strategic partnership with Humana to expand access to sleep care nationwide. Effective immediately, Humana members will receive coverage for Dreem Health’s complete suite of services, including at-home sleep testing, clinical diagnosis of conditions like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and personalized treatment plans. OSA affects an estimated 30 million people in the U.S., yet only 6 million are diagnosed, leaving 80% of cases unaddressed. This care gap has driven Dreem Health and Sunrise to collaborate with Humana, aiming to bring innovative, clinically validated sleep solutions to more Americans.

Since 2015, Sunrise has led advancements in at-home sleep diagnostics, with its proprietary SunriseĀ® home sleep test validated by peer-reviewed research and recognized by sleep medicine experts. After acquiring Dreem Health in 2024, Sunrise now offers a full-service digital-first model, combining sleep science, machine learning, and clinical care. Headquartered in Belgium and operating in France and the U.S., Sunrise is working to reshape sleep health globally. Its platform integrates a validated at-home diagnostic tool, a digital clinic with licensed providers, and a treatment infrastructure supported by payer partnerships.

CEO and Founder Laurent Martinot emphasized the broader health implications of sleep neglect, linking it to cardiovascular disease, cancer, and mental health issues. He noted that the Humana partnership helps close the care gap, particularly in underserved communities. Dreem Health is now active in 50 U.S. jurisdictions and expects full national coverage by mid-2025. In addition to Humana, it is in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, and Health Net of California. This partnership further establishes Sunrise’s leadership in digital sleep care and reinforces its mission to make high-quality, affordable sleep health accessible to all.
