Rula Health and Curai Health Partner to Integrate Mental Health Services

AI-powered virtual clinic Curai Health has announced a strategic partnership with behavioral health provider Rula Health to expand mental health services for its patients. The collaboration will enable Curai patients to access Rula's extensive network of licensed therapists and psychiatric providers, addressing the growing need for integrated behavioral health services within primary care settings.

Under the partnership, Curai will refer patients to Rula's network, which includes more than 15,000 licensed mental health providers spanning over 100 clinical specialties across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. This comprehensive coverage ensures that patients can receive specialized care regardless of their location.

Addressing common barriers to mental healthcare access, Rula Health maintains in-network status with most insurance companies and provides transparent out-of-pocket cost estimates for patients. The platform also utilizes a sophisticated matching system that connects individuals with providers based on specific preferences, backgrounds, and requirements, enhancing the likelihood of successful therapeutic relationships.

"Too often, mental healthcare exists in a silo, when it should be a key component of comprehensive primary care," Dr. Davis Liu, chief medical officer of Curai Health, said in a statement. "Partnering with Rula provides Curai patients with high-quality mental healthcare so they can receive the coordinated, whole-person care everyone deserves."

Josh Bruno, cofounder and CEO of Rula Health, emphasized the alignment of the companies' missions, stating: "This partnership is a natural extension of our mission to make mental healthcare more reachable for more people across the country."

This new collaboration adds to Curai Health's growing portfolio of strategic partnerships. In February, the company joined forces with UMass Chan Medical School to study the effectiveness of at-home testing for COVID-19 and influenza compared to lab PCR tests. The NIH-funded study provides participants who test positive with free virtual care through Curai's platform.

Previously in 2024, Curai established partnerships with Rightway, a healthcare navigation and pharmacy benefits platform, to provide virtual care services to Rightway members. That same year, Curai also partnered with Tufts Medical Center to expand virtual care access throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire through integration with the MyTuftsMed patient portal app.

Similarly, Rula Health has been expanding its reach, notably through a 2024 collaboration with Amazon that made its network of mental health providers available to Amazon customers via Amazon's Health Conditions Programs, significantly simplifying access to covered mental health services.
