Ubie Secures Google Funding to Expand AI-Powered Healthcare Solutions

Ubie Inc., a health tech company based in Japan, has received a significant investment from Google in its latest funding round. This investment is part of Ubie’s strategy to accelerate the digital transformation of Japan’s healthcare system, with a focus on leveraging generative AI and other technological innovations. Google’s backing aims to boost Ubie’s impact on improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency across the country.


Ubie has developed several impactful services, including the Ubie AI Symptom Checker, which helps over 12 million users per month find suitable medical care by analyzing their symptoms. The Ubie Medical Navigator, used by more than 1,700 medical institutions, enhances consultation quality and patient intake. The company also collaborates with pharmaceutical firms to ensure patients receive appropriate medications through its Ubie for Pharma service. Since its founding in 2017, Ubie has contributed significantly to public health, extending healthy life expectancy by over 27,000 years and generating economic value exceeding 150 billion yen.


In addition to its domestic success, Ubie is expanding globally, having established a U.S. subsidiary in 2022. The investment from Google will further support this international growth, helping Ubie fulfill its mission of making healthcare more accessible worldwide.
