Roche has secured an additional FDA 510(k) clearance for its VENTANA DP 600 slide scanner as part of the Roche Digital Pathology Dx system. This latest clearance builds upon the company's June 2024 authorization, expanding their digital pathology capabilities with a high-volume solution.

The VENTANA DP 600 represents a significant advancement in scanning capacity, offering 40 times the capacity of its predecessor, the VENTANA DP 200, while maintaining consistent image quality across both systems. The comprehensive Roche Digital Pathology Dx system now includes both scanners, along with specialized workflow software and display technology.
The system is designed to assist pathologists in reviewing and interpreting digital images of scanned pathology slides prepared from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue for patient diagnosis. This digital approach aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy, consistency, and speed through high-resolution imaging and advanced analysis tools.
