Sohar Health Raises $3.8M for AI-Driven Eligibility Verification Platform

Sohar Health, an AI-driven provider of eligibility determination and Verification of Benefits (VoB), has raised $3.8M in seed funding led by Kindred Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Character, and prominent angel investors. This funding will accelerate Sohar’s mission to remove insurance barriers that delay care, burden providers, and leave patients in limbo.

The healthcare system struggles with outdated insurance verification processes that create roadblocks for patients, leading to delayed appointments, unexpected medical bills, and postponed treatments. With nearly one in five claims denied on the first submission and medical debt in the U.S. reaching $140 billion, providers face revenue loss, inefficiencies, and worsening patient outcomes. These challenges particularly impact vulnerable populations managing chronic conditions or mental health concerns.

Sohar Health addresses these issues with real-time, AI-powered eligibility and benefits verification, replacing manual workflows with instant coverage confirmation. This improves efficiency for providers and ensures faster access to care for patients. Key features include real-time eligibility checks with a median response time of 6 seconds, a 96% accuracy rate in benefits data, and bulk API capabilities supporting up to 1,000 verifications per API call.

By streamlining insurance workflows, Sohar Health helps providers reduce administrative overhead, minimize claim denials, and increase revenue capture. Already supporting behavioral health providers, primary care organizations, and telehealth platforms, the company is removing insurance verification as a barrier to care. “The future of healthcare is seamless, efficient, and patient-focused,” said Ashish Mandavia, M.D., co-founder and CEO. “With this funding, we are expanding our product suite to help healthcare organizations focus on patient care rather than paperwork, eliminating administrative friction and improving the patient experience.”
