Matthew Holt founded The Health Care Blog in 2003, and it's been featuring opinions, interviews, news and podcasts (including the weekly THCB Gang) ever since. In 2007 with Indu Subaiya he founded the Health 2.0 conferences which were the leading new tech in health care events globally until their acquisition by HIMSS in 2017. Now he runs the SMACK.health Advisory service for health tech startups, and with Jess DaMassa he stars in the weekly show Health Tech Deals.During his career he has spent over 30 years in health care and health IT as a generalist forecaster and strategist, having worked for renowned forecasting (IFTF) and polling (Harris) organizations, conducted several groundbreaking in-depth studies about many aspects of health care and delivered several keynote addresses all over the world. Dr. Cheryl Pegus is Walmart’s executive vice president of Health & Wellness. In this role, Dr. Pegus is leading Walmart’s bold healthcare vision to be an integrated, omnichannel healthcare organization that leverages data, technology, and the company’s unique assets to improve engagement, health equity, and outcomes. Under her leadership is Walmart U.S. Health & Wellness, which encompasses more than 65,000 associates, 4600+ pharmacies, more than 3,400 Vision Centers, 20 Walmart Health centers and five Care Clinics Dr. Pegus joined Walmart from Cambia Health Solutions where she was president of consumer health solutions and chief medical officer. She directed platform consumer solutions including Journi, clinical services, pharmacy, provider and medical management activities.After working in private practice for several years as a cardiologist, Dr. Pegus joined Pfizer where she focused on the development of clinical protocols and early disease management programs. She also served at Aetna, where her work supported a focus on wellness, women's health, health equity initiatives and predictive analytics. Dr. Pegus served as the first chief medical officer at Walgreens.Additionally, Dr. Pegus is co-founder of A New Beat, an organization dedicated to improving the cardiovascular health and careers of women and under-represented minorities. She sits on the board of the American Heart Association and is the immediate past board chair for the Association of Black Cardiologists

He also served as global Chief Medical Information & Innovation Officer at Merck & Co. and worked in the Obama Administration as Senior Advisor to Donald Berwick when he led the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and as the first deputy director for policy and programs at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI).Dr. Jain is adjunct professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine, has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and is a regular contributor to Forbes.
