Joel Lieginger
Founder & CEO @ Paceline

After 15 years in the financial services industry, at some of the most storied organizations (AIG and AIA), and in some of the most senior roles, Joel saw firsthand how the financial services world needed to change for the next generation. And with fintech being the next big thing in tech--but being entirely tech led, rather than financial services led and tech enabled--he left his big corporate gig, moved his family across the world to the SF Bay Area, and founded Paceline, the first-ever fitness rewards platform that adds financial benefit to your physical activity. Paceline was born from a very personal place. Joel’s corporate career was moving at break-neck pace; his family was growing (three kids in less than three years) and, like for so many people, his health and wellness fell by the wayside. When Joel finally got back to exercising, it was so clear: your health is your most valuable asset and the foundation for how everything else functions. So, why aren’t we rewarding people for pursuing their wellbeing and for living a healthier, better, and longer life?At Paceline our goal is to bring fitness and financial rewards together into one seamless ecosystem that works for you. There are already plenty of corporate wellness programs where large companies incentivize their employees to stay active and healthy, but those financial rewards ultimately stay with the company. We’ve made it our mission to finally align the worlds of fitness and financial services so that we can all see the direct benefit of this ecosystem. The more we move, the healthier we become, the more rewards we see directly in our pocket. Simple as that.
