Point-of-Care Genomics Breaking Out of the Lab

Previously, Federer was the Chief Digital Officer at Bayer A.G., leading the global digital transformation for the life sciences leader across consumer health, pharmaceuticals, animal health, and agriculture. There she was recognized as one of the top 100 global CDOs and a leading Health Tech Influencer, adept at translating digital developments into meaningful advancements for both business and society. Federer served on the United Nations m-Powering Development Advisory Board for the Agency for Information and Communications Technology (ITU). Federer began her public health career as an analyst at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in the US Department of Health and Human Services. Federer earned a Bachelor of Science from the George Washington University, and a Master of Public Health from Yale.

Dr. Martin Stumpe serves as the Chief of AI at Tempus. Prior to joining Tempus, he founded and led the Cancer Pathology project at Google, which uses artificial intelligence to increase the accuracy in image-based cancer detection and grading. His team also succeeded in integrating these diagnostics into optical microscopy for real-time augmented intelligence. Earlier in his career, Dr. Stumpe was part of the Kepler team at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California, where he was responsible for the development of algorithms to detect extrasolar planets from stellar light curves. Before that, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University in the lab of Vijay Pande, focusing on molecular dynamics simulations to study chaperone-induced protein folding. Dr.Stumpe holds a PhD in Computational and Theoretical Physics from the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen, Germany.

  

Robert Loberg is a global healthcare executive with experience across a range of R&D and commercial activities at both BioPharma and Diagnostics companies. His experience in development, regulatory approval, and market access has led to a record of delivering strategies that support a broad portfolio of pharmaceutical and diagnostic products. With 40 peer-reviewed publications and considerable hands-on lab work, Robert has demonstrated a passion for Biomarker research and its applications in cancer therapeutics. 

Robert currently serves as Lifecycle leader for the Oncology & Genetics team at Roche where he oversees development, commercialization, on-market sales & support for next-generation sequencing assays and PCR portfolio products, the CLIA lab, and Pharma Partnering & Services Business.

Robert received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Michigan where he also served as a Research Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, and Department of Urology.

Robert attended Dartmouth College on a National Merit Scholarship, and graduated with honors from both Dartmouth and The Wharton School.
